Whether its the school system, teacher or the child himself, I ought to intervene. So I tried to
1) psycho him (aka brain wash) <– made me like a tape recorder..kept on repeating and repeating..
a) you know, getting “egg” means will make me(mummy) upset
b) getting “egg” means you have to write more (corrections)
c) when you didnt get “egg”, you can sleep with me
d) when you didnt get “egg”, I *may* buy you something. I use “may” cos I have more conditions to buying stuff.
2) beef up my coaching session…have more regular sessions, and creatively teach spelling to make it more fun. <——– HARD & ANNOYING WORK
So, for the past 2 sessions, he scored back 100%. Cant be too happy yet until I see some consistency..

Poor Philip. He is already doing well for the age of 4. My son’s kindergarden has not even introduced spelling or ejaan yet. I believe most kindergarden starts spelling at the age of 5.
LOL….so cute of u…brain wash system.
Well done P, good job to him.
geee…..u finally found a way!
100%! Well done!
Good job, mommy. My boy, now 9yo, also came home with red eggs for his ejaan tests during K1. I was working full-time then and it took me half a year before he could master sukukata and he has been doing well in BM ever since. For spelling, I taught him phonic sound but guess Chinese ting xie is the hardest among all, still pulling my hair every time I coach him Chinese characters.
Wow, 100% twice.
Good job Philip! and Good Job Mummy!
psst: these days, do you check the name first to make sure it’s the correct book?
I can feel your stress. Whenever I pick C up, and the teacher comes out as well, I dread what she is going to say to me. Every day have to sit with C and teach and teach. Such is how many years? Hope they will learn to learn when they reach mid primary.
4YO boy doing spelling, that’s tough!! Good job to Phillip!!
